Impressive Art Deco Clock in green patinated Spelter on a Portoro Marble Base. Designed by the famous Belgian Sculptor Georges Van de Voorde.This Masterpiece named "L'Etoile" (Star) was presented at the select annual "Salon des Artistes Français" in Paris around 1920.

The Clock dial in white enamel and the movement were made by Japy Frères & Cie Beaucourt France, Médaille d'Honneur Expo Universelle Paris 1855. (crown stamp). 

Beautifully shaped Figures of a man and a lady supporting the clock on their shoulders.The Pendulum is Star shaped. Signature "Van de Voorde", situated under the lady's frontal leg.

67 cm  26.28" total with   37 cm  19.50"  total height    15 cm  5.88"  deep    14,7 kg.

Georges Van de Voorde (Kortrijk 1878-Brussels 1964) sculpted in a wide variety of mediums: Clay, stone, ivory, wood, spelter and bronze. He showed his work in many national & international exhibitions during his lifetime. He is also well-known for his creations of several large public monuments and statues all over cities in Belgium.
